Boots offers an annual two-month residency to an emerging artist from abroad. Boots’s founder, Juan William Chavez, will invite the artists. The residency offers room and board, a studio, and a solo exhibition at the Boots Contemporary Art Space at the culmination of the residency. The residency may vary from two weeks to two months depending on the projects.

The 2006 artist-in-residency was Georgia Kotretsos, who is a founding Boots artist residing in Athens, Greece since 2005.

The 2007 artist-in-residency was Beate Engle, from Regen, Germany, currently residing in Munich, Germany.

The 2008 artist-in-residency was Isil Egrikavuk, from Izmit, Turkey.

The 2009 artist-in-residency was Serkan Ozkaya, from Istanbul, Turkey.
